What an EXTRAORDINARY Victorian Vinaigrette or pomander this is! Hidden in the depths of cherubs and Bacchus there is a vase shaped compartment with a tiny piece of cotton which would have been used to hold a young woman's favorite scent or oil ( or even smelling salts). The brooch is HUGE ( 3 1/2" wide x 3 1/4" long) and heavy and really well made. IT has layers of metal work with the cherubs on each side as well as Bacchus the God of Wine who is guarding this fabulous aesthetic piece!
