Here is a portrait of a ram in a deep indigo blue on white. It is from the series of five (?) subjects known as the Fresco Heads series by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Pattern No. 274, c. 1870-1875. The tile is in good condition having been broken and reglued; it is from quite a rare series though and is a bold image that will stand up until a better example comes along.
